SIAA provides valuable information to Seafood Summit Australia

The Association provided input to the virtual Seafood Summit in August 2021, updating summit delegates about food safety, biosecurity, product labelling, modern slavery and sustainability. Mark Boulter, Executive Officer for SIAA, said it was good to 'virtually' get out there and update folks on what is happening in the world of seafood imports.

Seafood imports play a key part in the seafood available for Australian consumers, providing 2/3 of the seafood consumed in Australia. It provides a key source of affordable safe seafood for the Australian public.

During Covid (so far) 2020 trade figures were only 5% down on 2019 and 2021 figures are up on 2019. For details see:
